ok weird.. put new starter in (used) and it fired right up.. but now about a week and a half later same problem. could it be a really weird coincidence that the used starter was that close to dieing or is something draining the starter? or is it the alternator? we tried jumping it and nothing, also the headlights are much dimmer than normal.. but its not the battery. what could be going on?

if it were the alternator it would start iwth a jump though right?.. right now my guess is that one of the cells in the battery is bad and its causing a short.. because the starter was really hot
