94 del sol suspension squeak help me diagnose please.
94 del sol vtec. H&r oem sport springs, kyb struts, energy suspension bushings all around. Upa lca trailing arm bushings sway links etc. Those aren't the squeak I'm almost certain. I'll explain in a few. Wheels and tires-O.Z. Racing chrono ht and 205-55-15 tires pretty much new.
Ok now the noise. It's a very annoying squeak that is relative to wheelspeed. As simple as I can it goes squeak squeak squeak squeak constantly (when it is acting up) and increases as the speed increases and visaversa. I've noticed the pitch changes when you turn the wheel any amount left. Right and it sorta fades away. Also the squeak stops when you slow to a stop and I can't like make it squeak when I want it to it just happens all the time and it comes in and out. Usually it squeaks after a bit of constant driving. It's not relative to temperature.
What I think it could be
ball joints
wheel bearings
maybe intermediate shaft bearing.
I've never had to diagnose a ball joint from noise so I'm not sure. But a shimmy test feels tight. But as far as I know they have never been replaced. I did replace the boots with the ones from the energy shitspension kit. I kick myself as I speak.
Wheel bearings I think because it's relative to wheel speed. But I cannot duplicate with car jacked up or on the ground bouncing the car or spinning the wheels. But driving close to buildings and such I am pretty sure I've narrowed it down to the passenger front. But for the life of me I can or find this damn squeak and it's been ongoing for months. And it's gotten so loud that I'm afraid to lose a wheel or something with these nice *** wheels I do t want to do that.
The intermediate bearing same as wheel bearing. Relative to speed. But I lack experiance to know how to figure this one out without a chassis ear.
Thankyou to anyone that shoots me some pointers. It's much appreciated.
