'94 Civic DX, taillights/gauge light problems
I recently purchased a 1994 Civic DX with a B16a swap (if that matters...).
I noticed a few weeks ago that when I turned my lights on, my gauge lights and taillights would go out. I checked through the forum and manuals and then eventually came to the conclusion that I must've blown the fuse (#19, 10A, according to the service repair manual). I changed the fuse and they worked great. Last night I was driving and noticed that my gauge lights weren't working. Before I could get home, I was pulled over my the cops and given a 10-day warning since my taillights were also out. I tried changing the fuse today with no results. I tried several different fuses (all 10A). Even when I switched the fuse before it looked fine, not blown or broken.
Any suggestions, tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there is an aftermarket CD player installed. It's not properly installed though, because the face lights go out here and there.

Thanks for the information. I'll try that tomorrow. I'm assuming that I can ground the aftermarket stereo then?

It's been a while since I've seen the wiring of an aftermarket stereo, but I'm assuming that there is a spot to ground it against the car itself so that this problem will disappear?

Alot of the time people over look the dimmer switch which is a common problem. Sometimes my car does the same thing, give it a hard tap with a screwdriver or something and lights should pop back on.

Incorrect. The dimmer switch and taillights are on the same circuit protected by fuse #19. If the dimmer switch has a short that is blowing fuse #19, then you will lose the taillights and cluster lights, as well as other lights on the circuit.

Re: '94 Civic DX, taillights/gauge light problems
The problem is that the #19 fuse isn't actually blowing. The tail lights and gauge lights work "occasionally" without any rhyme or reason. What about the headlight switch itself that controls the headlights/turn signals?
