94 civic d16z6 PCV Valve location With PIC
I performed a search and all the dyi's pics are no longer being hosted. It's time for me to get this replaced. I picked up the part at honda(wasnt cheap, factory oem for a pcv is 20 bucks. Ive seen others for 3-4 dollars) Anyway, I asked the parts person if there was a gromet that I would also have to replace. He stated there was not and that each end would be plugging into 2 hoses, one on each side of the pcv. He even showed me a picture and it even appeared to be correct(unless there is more than one pcv valve). I looked it up in the manual again and it shows that it connects to crank and THEN to a hose, and finally the manifold. So I have a few questions.
1. Is the dealership correct or is my diagram below correct?
2. Was I suppose to have purchasesd a gromet aswell or is the pcv valve all I need?
3. Is the diagram correct as to EXACTLY where i should find it on my d16z6?
4. Any advise would be helpful.

you dont have to use the grommet, but there definately is one stock. my grommet and pcv were like fused together in my old manifold. it was so brittle the hose broke off the bottom so i just yanked the whole thing out and replaced it with a $3 pcv from advance. i elected not to bother trying to find the stupid grommet lol.

The diagram is exactly where the PCV valve is on your D16Z6. The only tool you'll need is plyers for the crimp, then pull out the PCV valve (it may be kind of hard to), replace it, and put it back in as it was before. Then you're done.
If you see big cracks in the grommet then get a new one, most likely it will be fine. After 180k mine is still fine, but I have changed the PCV valve since I've had the car.

wow 3 dollars, i should take mine back and just buy a honda grommet. Now I just need someone to chime in with the answers to my 3 questions above. Not trying to sound rude, its just that I am in the correct town right now to pick up a grommet and tell this honda PARTS rep to go back to training or update there manuals.
Is the grommet on the lower side closets to the front of the vehicle?

How does everyone feel about not using Honda PCV and just go with autozone one?
