Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
it happens
and thank you all for watchen
my future plans for the car
when my cousins driving skills get better
I plan to upgrade the motor to one with more tourge
a B20 out of the crv is what im looking at
and then bore it out to a 2.2 litre
but that might not happen for a while
my cousin still has a long way to go
my last recorded lap time on my home course was 9 min 47 seconds
and as of last week my cousins at 11 min 38 seconds
the b20 might take a few years haha

And it can even be favorable for him if you do swap the B20, he can use your current engine on his car if the engine is still good.

Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
Hey I'm Kora. I drive a 93 Del Sol and looking to set her up for rally cross. All the other Sols I have seen use coilovers. For daily driving I do like her a little lower then stock. So for me this is the best of both worlds. I have seen a lot of Tein set ups but I ant find details on what coilovers they actually got. Do you guys have any advice?

Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
well ive got good news and bad news for you guys
first my cousin will no longer need my civic for his training
the good news is that my civic will now become my teams new rally car
so its going to go threw a big transformation
and the team will take the car to london where most of the future mods and races will take place
the bad news
is that our teams race car builds can not be on the internet where all the teams secrets are being shown to the public
so i guess thats a wrap for this build
the team will start to take action on the car in two months so in this time i will give the last 5 updates and then that will be it...
lets start where i left off
update 75
this was a christmas trip out to my inlaws place in Benidict Maryland
gave the car its first hand car wash down at an old friends shop
you can see his fd in the back
the wheather was nice down in MD
but then after new years we came back to nebraska and the weather was more like this
the MD trip was a 44 hour round trip drive
car didnt burn a drop of oil
i dont mean to toot my own horn or anything haha
stay tuned

Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
alright guys update 76 here we go
this is not a team secret but its one that very few members of the honda nation know about
you see most tuner car people remove the stock air box and replace it with a different type of filter
and its fine i do it too theres nothing wrong with that
but im going to show you a different way to have that high flow air filter and make it look stock
first things first you need to go and get your old filer box
this is kinda like an arts and crafts thing
you see your stock air filter that you get at the parts store will have this hard plastic shell on it
what you need to do is cut out the white paper filter thats on there and only leave yourself the shell
this will become our houseing for our new filter
going to drill two holes on each side and zip tie it all in place to hold our cage together
this is what our cage is going to be made out of
you can get this at home depot for 5 bucks
open her up and cut yourself two peaces for your filter cage
i always cut it a tad to big and then make small cuts on it so that it fits tight in the shell
tight enough that it scratches the shell going in
then you secure the cage to the shell with two zip ties
next step is to cut out our new filter to fit this cage
the guys down at UNI have hooked me up with there best foam filter
this is a sheet of filter foam that you cut to fit what ever kind of filter your making
its 5/8 s thick is what the bag says but really its 3/8 s thick
so now we cut out our peace
always cut it big not short
fitment in the airbox houseing
you cant see it in the picture but your second cage goes on the bottom on the filter
then you install your top cover and sqeeze that foam down and you are done
installed oh and also by doing this i just switched over from a short ram intake to a cold air
one thing i forgot to take pictures of was the oiling
i bought a gallon of K And N air filter oil and i oiled the foam air filter before putting it in the car
oiling your foam filters make them work beter because all the dust will stick to the oil and making the filter filter better
if you dont oil it
sure it will still work, just not as good cus without the oil some dust will find its way threw and thats what makes your throttle bodys dirty
total cost of this is 30 bucks and youll never have to buy another air filter again ^_^
anyway thats enough of that for today
stay tuned
copy all of this before it gets deleted ^_-

Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
update 77
lets get dirty
this update was my broken wheel stud repair
on my driver side front im only rolling with 3 wheel studs
now the proper way to fix this is too remove the axle nut and pull the hub out a bit to make room for your new stud to fit
threw the hole
but this will also shorten the life of that brand newish wheel bearing i have on there
and so here is the race team way of doing it
were going to remove the brake caliper and rotor
and with a grinder were going to take some metal away to make room for our new wheel stud to fit threw
you grind nice and smooth until your new stud can fit in nicely
just make sure that your new stud has a straight shot into the hole
i drive my new studs in with the washer and nut methed
when i was done i hit the grinded areas with some paint i had laying around
some greese on the grinded surface will also work for keeping the rust away
stay tuned

Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
update 78
this was an upgrade to my autozone car ramps
to me they were always too short hight wise
so i went down to home depot and bought some 2x8 stats and cut and bolted them
to the ramps
they give me 2 more inches of clearence when im under the car
and the more clearence the better
i named them MUR "Marcos upgraded ramps" ^_^

Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
Damn.... All that effort and the car was sold. I'm kind of bummed out. I enjoyed reading your build updates.
~$6,300 USD is a lot of money for a Civic nowadays so, that's awesome. Congratulations on our successes. Hopefully you'll come back with a new project.

Re: 94 civic cx hatch rally build
they gave me 2.500 for the car when they took it off my hands
and they added two race seats and a rollcage and some off road tires and then hit the races
anyway from here you just grow and use what you learned on this build and
pass it on to the next
you know...if your interested in updates, i have started a new project
its in the ef section named marcos new work car 90 sedan
but this build isnt a rally one it really is my new work car
the white hatch was used for work also thou part time
so my new build will have the same type of updates if your interested
but because this one isnt a race car the updates will stay on hondatech forever without haveing to worry
about revilling race team secrets ^_-
