92 civic sedan code 43
ok guys I know there are alot of posts on this but still havent seen any concret answers that will help me so heres the deal. I havent tried anything and i just picked up this 92 civic sedan lx for 700 bucks thats is in damn near perfect condition. Only thing wrong is that it burns oil and smoke out the back. ( any suggestions on this as well is helpful) Also its throwing a code 43. Now the thing to the code is that at low rpm its fine then around 1000 or so it seems like it wants to give out and stop accelerating (power loss) then struggles threw it and returns to normal. it also seems that it only happens in 1st to 2nd gear. any ideas of what i should try first im kinda on a budget and dont wanna spend mass amounts on things i dont really need. thanks for any help anyone can provide. ALSO IF YOU ARE IN THE VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA AREA I AM WILLING TO GIVE A LIL DOE TO FIX THIS AND THE SMOKING PROBLEM.

Re: 92 civic sedan code 43
Code 43:
Start by measuring the fuel pressure and checking the fuel pressure regulator. This code may also be thrown by a bad O2 sensor.
Power loss:
Burning oil and running rich may have clogged the catalytic converter.
Burning oil:
Things to consider -- worn piston rings, bad valve stem seals, and bad head gasket. You might want to do cylinder compression and leak down tests to pinpoint the source of the oil burning.

is there any easy way to fix the burning oil? somehitng like gum out or that crap you put in oil to seal up things? also would the compression being off cause it to smoke? after the test are performed what should i go about doing if things are wrong?
