Default 92 Civic Fuel delivery problem. New Fuel Pump doesn't prime.

So I put 2 brand new fuel pumps through this car , 92 Civic SI. The first one would prime fine everytime I turn key to ON position , then it stopped priming after a week or so.I thought it was defective so I took the fuel pump back and got a new one , hoping it would work I popped a new fuel pump in today and still no fuel pump prime.

The main relay clicks briefly when i turn the key to on then one more click when the CEL turns off but no fuel pump prime. The battery indicator also stays on also when the key is to ON position, what does that mean?. I checked the ACG Fuse and T-Stat Ground , Tranny Ground , Valve Cover Ground , New Fuel Pump. I have yet to try a new main relay because it is clicking so that means its working fine correct? Help please?

Civic fuel pumps rarely fail.

Use a multimeter to check whether the fuel pump gets voltage on the Yel/Grn power wire (for 2 seconds after the key is turned from off to ON(II)) and has good ground on the black wire.

Dumb but serious question ..... what setting do I put the multimeter to too read the yel/grn power wire? Also what numbers should I be getting?

Can you post a picture of your multimeter? It's easier for me to tell you exactly what to do.

Dial the multimeter exactly to the position (DCV) shown in the picture.

Install black meter probe in black hole and red meter probe in right side red hole.

Unplug the fuel pump connector.

Test 1
Touch the red meter probe to the Yel/Grn wire terminal in the pump connector (wire harness side) and the black meter probe to an unpainted part of the metal chassis. Hold that position while your buddy turns the key from off to ON(II). You should read about 12V for 2 seconds and then basically no volts after that.

Test 2
Same as Test 1, except touch the black meter probe to the black wire terminal in the pump connector (wire harness side). You should get the same reading as in Test 1.

check also fuses and main relay, could have shorted something

Which fuses may be involved in a no start , particularly fuel pump failure? Will do the multimeter test and report back RonJ.

If you do Ron's test it will test that you have electricity (fuse/relays/wires) from the battery all the way back to the fuel pump. If your test fail we can look into fuse/wires/relay/etc...

So I did your test Ron and turns out no power to connector. Could the main relay click but still not giv a signal to the pump?

Both tests yield no volts, right?

If you turn the key from off to ON(II), does the CEL illuminate for 2 seconds and then turn off? Or does it remain on steady?

Have you voltage tested fuses 31 and 24?

Have you resoldered or replaced the main relay?

Have you cleaned/tightened the G101 ground on the thermostat housing?

Yeah , both tests dont show any sign of power to pump .
CEL turns on then turns off after 2 seconds followed by a click from main relay.
I havent tried soldering the main relay heard of it.
Also I cleaned g101 and made sure it checks out.
Will do fuses tonight.

This^ tells you that what you say below is fine, so no need to check them.

Actually, I'm now thinking that the power wire that runs from the main relay to the fuel pump may be broken. Therefore, do a continuity test on this wire between the main relay and fuel pump connectors.

There is a greasy build up in the fuel pump connectors , almost kind of like anti seize.could this stop the power from powring up the pump?

No, that's just dielectric grease to seal out moisture.
