Default 92 civic dash lighting dimming problems

Hi,

firstly- this civic doesn't have a dimming dial or switch anywhere on the dash board..

I have a 1992 right hand drive japanese imported (NZ) civic eti hatch.. cars in great condition.. and running sweet.. just installed full cd and added extra door central locking with alarm myself.. but the dash board lights at night seem to be really dim compared to say the red bat light, indicators, door open etc lights.. during the day and night...

Have pulled the dash apart and found 6 of the lights for this had blown - apart from one... some looked burnt out completely.. have replaced today and this evening they seem to be dim still... have civic wiring guide etc - and can see dimming circuit etc but have no idea what do... was hoping there would be some sort of dial (to adjust the brightness) inside the instrument cluster when I pulled it apart to change the blown lights – but cant see anything… any ideas? Also – the car clock goes but seems to have a dimming problem as well – could they be connected? The clock resets to 1 oclock every time the ignition is turned off… any help would be appreciated..

Cheers
