92 civic automatic - cranking and starting issues
Hello everyone I have a 1992 honda civic dx automatic and it is having problems starting up. The fuel pump does not always prime even though ive already replaced the main relay. It primes 90 percent of the time but that is not the main problem. The main problem I am having with the car is that when I turn the key to crank the motor, nothing happens. The engine does not even try to crank and the starter does not click. The lights on the dash dim but thats about it. I have to run a wire from the battery to the starter to get it to crank.
After doing some research I found that it could be the starter relay so I looked under the dash above the main relay but could not find it. At first I thought I wasnt looking hard enough but then had my friend drive over with his 93 civic and we realized its completely missing from my car. I am completely lost with whats wrong because some days the car cranks fine with the key and some days I need to use a wire from the battery and run it directly to the starter.
Please help.

Test the shift position console switch.
The fuel pump issue may be a bad ECU, though other problems are possible. You need to do some electrical troubleshooting with a multimeter.

Found out water was getting the computer wet due to a leak in the windshield. Once the computer got dry everything went back to normal
