I have a 94 civic coupe EX. Right now its sitting on Tein S-Techs, 16in Wheels and 205/45-16 with KYB shocks. I love how comfortable the ride is and its mid level performance. I need to lower my car a little more so that I can get ride of the small gap I have. I know the Skunk2 Lowering springs drop civic 2.5in and that would be about .06in more than my s-techs and thats perfect. I also know springs dont always drop like the factory says. So I would love to see what this looks like on your civic, before I purchase these springs.

I know everyone wants to tell me to get coilovers, so I dont have to go through all of the guess work. I will tell you right now that I do not like coilover sleeves, because I drive my car on a daily basis and they are all to damn harsh when driving. Now I know most of you would say dont do sleeves, do I full coilover damper kit. I will tell you that I can not afford to put a full coilover damper kit on my car, so there is not need to even bring up coilovers please. I already know what I want to do, so I dont really need anyone telling me to do otherwise, just because it works for you; doesnt mean thats what I want. Thanks

I need some serious info from you guys and pictures if you have them. Im calling all 92-95 civics only with skunk2 lowering springs. If you post here please post a picture of your civic and along with the picture please state wheel size, Tire Size, Shock Type, and ride comfort. If you cant post all that I ask then please dont pose at all, because you really wont be helping me at all.

just cut the dead coil off your teins.. that will give you about 1/2 inch and you wont have to spend any money

Yeah but wont cutting them make the suspension bouncey as hell. I need to keep my confort. I drive the car on a daily basis

You will end up changing the springs for more of a drop correct? Why not cut the springs when you decide on a another set ( but before you buy that set) and just see how it rides. At least then you'll have experience to offer anyone else who may do it and is affraid of messing with there spring rate etc.

Don't cut the springs, if you chose to replace them, you will be able to sell them.
I don't know many people who buy cut springs.

Right on here. Cutting the dead coil will not affect quality of ride, now cutting multiple of coils will.

Im not really worried about selling the springs, although if I do get some new ones then it would be nice to unload these on someone, but maybe I will try cutting the spring and see where that gets me. The only way to learn is experience right?

So if I cut .5 in off of the dead coil, does that mean I will get another half inch drop and still be able to keep my ride comfort.

Right, but you can also learn from others mistakes.

I am not going to tell you will keep the ride comfort, because I just dont know. I haven't cut lowering springs before.

IF, you do decide to cut the springs, make sure you cut the equal on each spring. It is kind of hard to explain, but look at the springs now, before they are cut. After they are cut, they need to look the same, except the obvious 1 coil less.

This is so the spring will still sit on the shock body correctly.

I dont reccomend cutting them, becuase once you do, your stuck.

If you'd like I will try and post pic's of my car, It isn't a eg, but I should still give you some sort of idea where a 2.5" drop will put you.

Well im gonna tell you to go with coilovers..You can use sleeves you dont have to buy the full bodys. I have illiminas whites and GC coilovers and my car rides great..Here is a before and after.

yeah I just have never liked how stiff coilovers were. I have been hearing that the ground control sleeves are good. So black diamond. Tell me what is the ride comfort on your civic and do you drive it ev everyday

You can choose your spring rates with ground control's

As long as you don't go too low you won't need stiff rates.

Cant remember the exact spring rates on my GC's but i am also pretty low, the ride is good, i like it it not to bouncy and not to stiff. And in my opinion its great it is my DD and have had zero problems..

Thanks guys, I just ordered some Ground control coilovers today, so I will give those a try and see how they feel.

oh by the way, if anyones interested I have my tein s-techs that I wont be needing anymore. Asking $75
