Si Brakes & Suspension into DX
I have a 1993 Si, and a 1993 DX hatch. I stipped the Si and am currently in the process of swapping out the front suspension and brakes. I was almost finished with one side of the car, but when I tried to put my caliper over the rotor, I found it wouldn't fit. The new rotor I have is 10.3 inches in diameter. The caliper looks like it will fit over the old brake disk for the DX which is only 9.3 inches in diameter. I traded in my Si calipers for rebuilds, but my question is, what is the different part on the two cars to accomodate the larger rotors. Are the mounting brackets on the caliper of the Si moved out 1/2 an inch, or are the upright mounts in a different location. If its the calipers I will just go back to napa and tell them they gave me the wrong mounting brackets, if its the upright, then I will have no choice but to get the smaller brake disk and install it. I have pictures, any help is appreciated.
I put the rotor on backwards over the caliper to show the difference.

no your are wrong man the si brakes are way bigger and the calipers too. on the dx one you one have on bolt to remove and on the si calipers you have two to remove also. the si rotors meausre 10 in diameter while the dx cx vx all measure 9and half. trust me on this. cause i had the same problem when i got the brakes for my hatch. i had a si knuckle on the left side and a cx knuckle on the left. and i had to get to different set of brake pads and rotors. until i got my suspension from a si hatch. so no the dx does not have the same rotors or cailpers as the si hatch.

You must have gotten a 94 Si ABS knuckle

I know for a fact that my Si is a 1993 and it has no ABS. I swapped the knuckle from the Si onto my 1993 DX. But the disk brakes that I took off of the Si were only 9.3 inches in diameter. Does this mean I got the wrong disk? The one I have is 10.3 inches. But I wouldnt mind having the larger disk, but will I only need to get the caliper and mount from a honda that came stock witha 10.3 disk, or is the knuckle different also. I wont bother if I have to replace the knuckle because I just pressed in brand new ball joints and wheel bearings.

All 92-95 Si without ABS will have 9.5" front discs. The larger, 10.3", discs are mounted on a different knuckle.

Thank you very much, thats exactly what I needed to know. I will go back to napa tomorrow and tell them they gave me the wrong rotor.

Lol. Thanks, I was wondering if someone was going to say that.

Question: Why do all the application guides for every brake rotor I look at say that the 1993 Honda Civic EX and Si have 10.3 inch rotors, when I know for a fact that my Si came with 9.4 inch rotors?
