200WHP D16y8?
Hi everyone, I'm very new to these forums (not because I want to ask a question and never again be apart of this community) because I just recently picked up a 2000 Honda Civic EX, and wanted to get into the Honda community. I'm not extremely new to building engines, but I'm fairly familiar and am pretty mechanically sound.
That being said, my car has a 100% stock D16y8 (V-TEC) along with stock everything under the hood. My goal for this vehicle is to get 200WHP (200-230HP) without doing an engine swap. I don't mind turboing it or supercharging it (Whatever is going to be the most effective or reliable).
Again, I' new to Honda motors and my BUDGET is 5,000$. I know a few will probably tell me to swap in a b16 or a h22 ect, ect. I want to keep the d16, I love them motor, just need to know what all I need to get 200WHP out of my D16. I know there is probably a million threads about this out there, but I can't seem to find one with a straight up answer. Thanks in advance!
Goal:
200-230HP
200WHP
(Will Turbo or Supercharge)
Budget: 5k
Thank you!

Re: 200WHP D16y8?
for 200+ you are going to have to turbo it. Head over to the forced induction sub forum and start reading through the FAQs there.

For your goals, a stock block turbo setup would suffice and your budget is more than enough. Start by reading the Forced Induction FAQ and develop a base of knowledge before diving in too far
