Shipping question?
Hey guys, i have a transmission i need to ship out. I know a cardboard box wont work, should i build a wood platform and strap the tranny down to it to ship? I Am confused. Can anyone who has shipped a tranny give me some pointers, thanks. Oh, and also how much did u end up paying with what carrier?

Re: Shipping question? (92tealvx)
just find a freight company. Find a normal wood palette and use plumbers tape (available at any local hardware store) to strap it down. Some freight companies will ask for some kind of document that proves that there is no fluid in the tranny. You might also need to wrap it in cardboard before you strap it down, it just depends on which company. Just search google.com for freight companies because if you try to ship UPS logistics freight they charge a minimum $159! I am sure you will be able to ship it for under $100. Good luck.

I got my block shipped to me through ups in a card board box. You don't have to go to a freight company, they will charge you a whole lot just to ship it. IM b18c1_powered_si his name is Brian and has shipped many trannies to people, I am sure he can help you out on your situation.
