Default 2000 Civic Ex P1399

Little background, on the issue. About 3 weeks ago i was pulling away from a stop light and the car started to misfire badly. I limped it to the nearest parking lot about 2 blocks away. Picked it up later that night and brought it home.

Replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor no change.

Replaced the dizzy this afternoon, car ran good for about 5min then started doing the same thing.

The car will idle ok for the most part, everyone and then it will misfire and stubble for about 30 sec then rev up and smooth out. If you slowly bring the RPMs up it will NOT misfire. But if you snap the throttle it will misfire.

It will also misfire when you put in gear and try to accelerate.

The only code i get is a P1399 nothing else. Im at a loss here. Never had a misfire stump me like this before.

153k on the car TB done at 110K along with plugs and wires.

I will test the fuel pressure and reg this week. Plugs are gapped properly and are NGK stock spec plugs.

Do a compression test and see if how much compression are you getting in all your cylinders i have the same problem too turned out i needed to do a valve adjustment on my GSR things that I did

DIZZY
spark plugs
spark plug wires
Cap
Rotor
Check timing
Changed O2 sensor B1S1

the last thing i did was do a compression test and i was getting 90PSI on all four cylinders once i did the valve adjustment job my compression went back to 180PSI and there was no more sputtering out of the exaust and no more check engine light and it was not misfiring anymore so deff do the compression test see if it works out fingers crossed you dont have a dead cylinder good luck!!!!!

Im at a loss here now guys. I have a video of the car running, ill post it up if i can get it to upload off my phone to photo bucket.

P1399 is a generic misfire code. Jump the service connector, and post the codes.

Post the fuel pressure readings.

Can't see detail in your tiny picture.

Did you jump the service connector?

Is P1399 a pending or real code?

Here is the video of the car running. With the fuel pressure gauge on it.

I don't have my scanner with me at the moment. I believe it was a real code, BUT i could have been pending. Its been a minute since i have seen it.

How did you fix this? I have a 1998 Honda Civic DX that started with a CEL. Checked the codes and got P302 and P1399. Started troubleshooting by check spark plugs and then swapping wires. When I changed the wires between #1 and #2 the troubles spread to P300, P301, P302, P303, and P1399. Thought I was going to have a very bad day. Then checked the compression and everyone of them was over 180 except #2 was 145.

Car would start but idle very roughly. When driving it wouldn't handle any uphill slopes or hills well and would almost stop. As soon as the hill leveled out it would accelerate again.

Then put everything back the original way and went back to P302 and P1399.

Headed to auto zone and bought new plugs and wires. Put them in and everything works excellently. All codes gone and the power is back.
