Stop. Just stop. OP, go read your VIN. It'll be inside your door jam on a sticker. It will also be on a small riveted plate on your dash, easily visible if you stand at your front driver's side tire and look down through your glass. It should start off with 1HGEJ6, 1HGEJ7, 1HGEJ8, or 1HGEM1. Tell us which one it is.
And yes, I actually have that memorized. Of all the things to stick in my brain, it has to be the first digits of a ******* Honda VIN.

4 door with power windows and no sunroof indicates lx
2 door with cranks windows suggests dx
Pretty sure those are the only options left
Gx/hx off table as they didn't have y7

The issue at hand right now, though, is we aren't even 100% sure that the OP is pulling a Y7. The VIN number should definitively answer that, and barring that, two simple pictures can. One of the engine stamp, and one of the distributor side of the head, and this conversation could be over in a jiffy.

I think OP needs to post up images of engine, OP needs to verify what he has by looking at his registration VIN and matching it with the VIN on the firewall then run a carfax to verify the VIN.

he probably has a ex that someone previously installed a y7 but with a y8 intake manifold. what he probably did was use the mainfold from the y7 motor instead of the using the y8 manifold... switch the manifold to the one you previously had on the car i bet that will fix the problem.

[QUOTE=92ehatch;50117019]No he has no sun roof so this is not it read the thread thoroughly[/QUOTE
I still say he should switch those parts incase the previous owner changed the injectors and manifold.

The OP shouldn't do anything until we can confirm what kind of clusterfuck we're dealing with.
The problem is a massive vacuum leak. That's simple enough to diagnose. It's rev'ing out of control as soon as it's turned on because there's enough air getting in without the throttle body being open, which can only mean a vacuum leak. The cause of that could be a few things, which means the OP needs to poke his head around and find the source of the leak.

Then you have a vacuum leak coming from somewhere else. This isn't something we can just magically point at for you. You need to get in there and find where the leak is coming from. Get a smoke machine, or find a friend who smokes cigars. Get a nice, big cloud of smoke all around the engine. Start it momentarily, and see where it gets sucked in. There ya go, that's your vacuum leak source.
