1999 Civic Door Lock

1999 Civic Door Lock
I'm having a problem with the door lock on the front passenger door of a 4-door '99 Civic. The car locks and unlocks the other three doors properly. This door sounds as if it's unlocking, but the door won't open unless I pull up on the lock post and pull the door handle simultaneously. Either the inside or the outside handle will work.
I took the door panel off yesterday thinking that the issue was the actuator, but I really don't want to go through the trouble of taking the inside of the door apart if it's not a problem with the actuator.
Any thoughts or experiences?
Thanks

Re: 1999 Civic Door Lock
Sounds like a bad actuator. You could test whether the actuator connector receives battery voltage when the switch is pushed. If so, replace the actuator. You might also as a test swap a good actuator from another door.
