1995 Civic Ex cruise control
need some help if anyone can:
1995 Civic Sedan 5spd. bought it with cruise control not working. Have so far swapped: Cruise control control unit under dash, checked clutch and brake switches, checked all fuses under hood and dash, read out the damn clock spring/cable reel (had continuity when press set or accel/decel buttons but i dont have the test cable to match to Helms settings but still think it is good since it shows continuity at pins on yellow connector below steering wheel when either button is depressed) swapped button that engages cruise both light up....no go.... i tried connecting power to the cruise control unit under hood ( the actual motor ) per Helm's manual instructions....it does what it is supposed to, tested known working one on my other ciivc lx and does exact same thing....now i am stumped. can anyone think of any suggestions i would really like to get cruise working on this thing

Re: 1995 Civic Ex cruise control
ok, so its fixed. just for those who have a similar problem...the brake light switch was replaced with a trim panel insert and fixed the brake light staying on problem but was not depressing the switch all the way. i assumed (yes i know the adage about assuming) that if the brake lights worked with the pedal that was not the issue...WRONG...4 wires to that plug, the cruise control needs it to be seated all the way to work so i adjusted it in till it was seated fully and voila the cruise control worked. hope this helps someone else....
