Default D16y8-New Intake manifold, Does it require a new tune?

Hello Honda tech.
I have a 97 honda civic ex-D16y8 and I got a edelbrock performer x. Since this is a somewhat important part should i get my car tuned? Ive done research and cant seem to get a solid answer. People are saying to get a tune, and other people are saying it is not necessary. If so would you recommend having a shop do the tune or is it easy to do my self?

Any help is appreciated.

What setup do you have that you needed a Performer X? Do you know how to tune?

I got the performer x to gain a little more power on my d16y8. And no i do not know how to tune. But if the intake manifold is a simple tune I would learn and try to do it my self.

You don't need a tune.

You wasted your money. A tune requires a chipped ECU and something like Hondata or Neptune to actually tune the ECU to run with the modifications you make to it. It is NOT an easy thing to do NOR can any run of the mill shop do it.

Lemme know if you want to sell that X.
