Default 1.6 EL/Domani Trunk Conversion NEED HELP NOW!

PROBLEM SOLVED! MODS PLEASE LOCK THIS UP.

I recently purchased a Acura 1.6 EL/Domani Trunk Lid and tail lights. I know that it is a direct bolt on to 96-00 civic.

I've done extensive research on how to wire the tail lights, turn signals, and reverse lights and have come up with nothing.

I decided to wing it and install the trunk. I used the pigtail harness that came with the trunk and wired it to my stock harness by using common sense. (match the wires by color)

The issue I'm having is that the body harness on my car wont plug up to the outter tail lights.

So i am wondering if anyone on here has ever done the conversion before and can give me some useful information or links to a DIY.

please help me out Honda Tech i would greatly appreciate it!

I have a 99 civic LX... Not sure what year the domani trunk is.

you can reply here or email me @ mantyme@gmail.com

please include "domani help" in the subject line!

Hm. Everything I've read says it is a direct bolt on with no modification needed.
DOMANI Rear Trunk and Taillight Conversion

Domani Rear Trunk Conversions are a unique addition to any 1996-00 Civic Sedan(4 Door).

(No Modification is required, Conversion is a Direct Bolt-on)"\
That would include the wiring.

One guy on the net says
In April 2009 I found a local seller parting out a 97 Acura EL that had the exact same paint code as my civic. It was such a rare opportunity that I immediately gave him a call and was able to pick up the trunk lid with spoiler and tails for a really good price. Installation is very straight forward so I didn’t even make a writeup. You literally unscrew 4 bolts from the arms that open your trunk, unplug the harness and then install in the reverse order. And then BOOM, you’re done. The harness can be a PITA to get into the new trunk, though.

everything i read says that its a direct bolt on and plug and play for 96-98 civic 4 door.

i also read that for 99-00 yu have to wire in turn signals and reverse.

but that is all no one cared to go into detail on how to wire it up

Possibly you just need to source wiring diagrams for all vehicles involved. Including a 98. Or just splice in a harness from a 98 if that's even possible.

And DON'T PM Xtrac1. It's a running joke.

If you googled like Marc did then you would of found this information.
Instead you come in here HELP ME NOW knowing darn well these conversions arent mainstreem and everyone and their brothers arent doing them.
Should of done more research before you started buying and chopping up things.
Two ways to do something... the right way and the wrong way.
You chose the latter. So you got a trunk and chopped up wiring.
Sometimes you have to step back and look at things for a little while before you pull the trigger.
The solution is there sometimes you have to be patient, and you'll find it.
There are places you can call to find answers, i did google this, & low and behold theres more than a few places selling clips.
If your stuff didnt match up it would of been a good idea to make some calls and see if you cant find out why.
Sometimes you dont always get what you need.
There are sometimes subtle differences in European and Asian market cars.
Better to pay a few bux more and have a plug and play than to chop ,and wonder if your splicing skills are all that.

All because you couldnt be bothered in reading until your eyes popped out.
first of all like i said i have done research. i saw the exact same thing that marc posted. what information was given? none at all.

it said it was plug and play no modifications needed. so i went ahead and purchased the trunk got it painted and installed it just to find out it is not plug and play..

so how bout you stop being a douche bag and stop posting on my thread if you arent helping or posting helpful information

Im a douche? You bump to announce you are going to the junk yard and you still have a chopped up harness.
If you were told it was plug and play, and didnt do a trial fit just to make sure... whos the douche?
Always do a trial fit.
You are starting to sound like the guy who posted about his hood that extended past his tail lights. what do i do what do i do?
