00 EX as stock as they get, 5mt 140K miles(250,xxx km's) it's extremely cold here lately as in -22*C or -7*F with wind chill(idk if that's a factor) it gets even colder. If I leave the car temp set to cold it warms up just fine(temp gauge) but then if I turn the heat on in just drops below and stays there, unless i'm on the highway for a hour or so. My gas millage is pretty bad I expect that in the winter but i'm driving around with the engine reading as cold all the time thus it will stay in open loop and we all know what that means. it's not a sending unit or anything it functions as it should seeing as when I have the air on "cold" it warms up just as fast as my Tundra.
I know how the heating system works and that it will take longer if you have the heat cranked on start up, but this is nuts as soon as I turn the heat on my temp gauge drops below cold in a matter of 8-10 seconds non of my other vehicles do/have done this. I like this little car and prefer it over the gas guzzling truck, but right now the 5.8L looks like a better option.

ok, that idea floated around in my head but I figured it was fine since that car "could" get to temp just fine with the air on cold.
