Default [FAQ] How-To get your 92-95 bumper to fit flush with your fenders! *Pics*

I had so many people ask how I got my bumper to fender fitment so tight. I like to help out whenever I can, so here is my 2AM write-up

Note: If your car has been in a wreck you may not be able to get the same results.

One of the cheapest mods you can do to your civic. Yet it does so much for the looks of the car. See for yourself:

You start with a civic that has $hitty OEM hardware:

Next you take your a$$ to Lowes and get the following:
(I picked up some extras in case I lose some of the hardware in the future )
I should of bought the 2 extra nuts but didn't for some reason

ADDED: Guys get stainless steel hardware. The $hit I have now is going to rust eventually. I'll be replacing the hardware one day.

Here's what you are working with:

Here's part of the reason the bumper will not sit flush to the fender :

Here's what I used to make the fender flush:
(place extension on back side and gently hit extension through fender)

The fender ends up like this:

And the bumper goes back on like this:

nice looking hatch...i did the same thing to my rear bumper...those plastic bumper thing suck ***...good write up bro...something simple...that people would not notice and it is a cheap upgrade...actually if you bought those plastic new from the dealer...or autozone it still more expensive...

i use that method too.

right now tho, im using zipties...on one side of my bumper the hole is broken out and i cant really attach it

however, zipties do keep it pretty flush , until they break

Hey, fastwanabe, what's a G22? In your sig it says that's what you have in your Civic for an engine Did you mean H22?

i did this the ghetto way, took all the heat sheilds off my stock exhaust and used the hardware from it to do this exact thing, i would say this way looks better but you dont see it anyway. but yah definately a good idea. on the contrary if you are ricky racer you could use zip ties, they are lighter than bolts.

i think a g22 is what "they" call a f22 with a H22 head... not sure tho

My 95 coupe is fine in the front but the back bumper the side near the rear panel is open up a bit/sag etc. I want to fix that would the same method apply? How do I take off the bummper from that side(by the rear panel) I know the screw to the bumper already the ones on the trunk but where else are there screws?

This is a common problem with the 92-95's. After Nopi I will be tearing the back bumper off to fix this. Most likely a "How-To" coming as well. I have no idea what needs to be done since I have never removed a rear bumper before
