Good thread. I read here that removing your gauge cluster will turn the light on. When I got the car someone had removed the cluster to paint it, then painted over the SRS light. I replaced the cluster and the light was on. Reset my 95 del sol and the light stayed off.

I've got a 1996 accord and this worked great! Like other remarks I've been looking at the SRS light for YEARS! Error coded were 9.2,7.2 and 7.3. Honda dealer wanted $500 plus to replace SRS unit not sure if that was even necessary. Location of the MES was a little vague mine was located under the steering wheel to the left very close to the hud release.

Bringing this back from the dead! So I followed the instructions, got the light to blink twice indicating that it has been reset... now this is where I am confused. I am assuming because I pulled the plug to start with, I have to reconnect it. Is this correct?

After the light blinks twice, I turn the ignition off, reconnect the plug, turn the car on and the SRS stays on. So do I have a problem or do I leave the plug disconnected?

Thank you!

The reset "plug" is just that and there is nothing that it plug into just a blank receiver to hold it. You still have something going on if the light will not clear. Now that you know how to reset do a search on how to read the codes.

Majestic Honda has the replacement airbag for driver listed as 536.00? Is that the cheapest?

I reset my SRS light recently, after replacing the horn, which I think stopped working due to the contacts on the inside rusting. I looked up some videos on what causes a horn to stop working and found that it can be fixed by opening it up and sandpapering all the contacts to make them clean again. I'm thinking of doing that to fix my original horn, but for the meanwhile I grabbed a horn from a junkyard for $5 and swapped it in, and the horn works again. Then I had to reset the SRS light to get it to turn off. To wire up the two sides of the SRS dash-light plug, I took a paper clip, cut it in half, stuck each half into one of the SRS plug sides, and then connected an alligator clip to each of the paper clips. And then I touched the other ends of the alligator clip to each other at the appropriate times while the SRS light was turning on and off, to reset the SRS light.

This is where I found the SRS dash-light plug to be in my EM1 / 1999 Civic SiR. The yellow plug with the red arrow pointing towards it came out of the empty plug holder that the other red arrow is pointing towards. I had to first remove the green plug from its larger plug holder before I could access the yellow plug. The wiring for the yellow plus was very short, so I had some difficulty getting it back into place. But just when I was about to leave it hanging out (probably no reason not to), it slipping back into its socket.
