The metal rail that secures the top of the rear bumper, sorry should have clarified it earlier.

Honestly if it were me I'd buy a slide hammer and do it myself since it's going to be covered by the bumper cover.

I would do that as well, but I don't want the bumper fitment to be offset by it. It's already bad enough as is and I think this is preventing it from being flush on the sides.

That's why you shape it as needed. It doesn't have to be pretty since no one will see it. You'd be amazed at how easy it is to bend the metal the way you want using a hammer.

^Yeah I agree, I don't care if it's not pretty as long as it's enough to ensure the bumper is lined up correctly.

I know its not a honda but here goes

1997 camry
4cyl
215k miles
garage kept most of its life
drove 50 miles a day twice a week and he keeps it running by driving on freeway weekly
decently new tires all around
passes smog, running, no reg fees
working ps and ac
one owner vehicle
well maintained
no accidents
clean title
straight body and paint, just needs interior detailing.

Would be easier with pics too, but if it's real clean and mechanically sound you could probably fetch maybe 2000-2500.

I know it would be more helpful.

It is more of a "what should I buy it for"

the seller is selling it for 1200, i live in california, I'm sure there's some rust because they live right basically on a bay and near the beach, salt air probably has done more harm then good
Supposedly it is mechanically sound, I'm saving 6 wks and seller said hed save it for me until i get the $$$
I'm wondering if u think i could get him down to 1100 or 1000 even then. Does money really talk that much on something whose kbb's value is 600 more then they're asking to get?

In my experience, if the seller is motivated and it isn't someone who's all sentimental about the car they're selling, if you throw cash on the hood that's within a few hundred of their asking price, they will take it. Good luck.

On a different note, what do you guys think about this:

1994 Supra TT
132k Miles on internally stock 2JZGTE and stock 6 speed. Basic BPU mod package
(Stock CT12 turbos, HKS intake, Blitz 3" downpipe/midpipe, 3" Greddy exhaust, stock 440 injectors, stock intercooler, Walbro 342 pump, Minez ecu upgrade, Greddy Boost controller, 18" SSR GT3 with General Gmax rubber, stock suspension, stock brakes with TRD rotors/EBC pads, stock V160 trans w/ Exxedy clutch, Innovate Wideband/Boost/oil press gauges in pillar pod) Car is said to have put down a tad under 400hp and 375tq to the wheels.
Now for the bad:
Original green paint is ROUGH, clear coat all but gone, a few small areas of cancer on the bottom of rear fenders, cracked windshield, cracked front lip area of the front bumper cover, rear hatch seal leaks in heavy rain, blower motor for climate control is bad, and it has a salvage title for a reason not yet known to me.
Seller is asking 16k FIRM and has already turned away a buyer with a cash in hand offer of $13,500. This is a car my cousin desperately wants to buy, but when he asked my opinion I at first told him I did not feel it was worth it in that condition, but I agreed to go see it in person with him tomorrow afternoon and see if that changes my opinion. In the meantime, I was curious what you fellow HTers thoughts on this were?

My buddy has a RHD delsol SIR with the transtop and its a rolling shell. had a k20 in er but hes giving up the build and hit me up to buy it because he knows my current build is a 93 delsol Si. I really want it and can get it now and but my motor in but the bay is completely stripped because he was doing a tuck and shave. like theres nothing in there at all so Id have to run new braklines, prime the bay and get a painter to spray it. It wouldnt come with seats and maybe a few other things. He wants 4500$ What do you think its worth? It has no rust which is a huge plus. If I didnt get this I'll have a rusty delsol with a fresh engine bay and brandnew brakelines. And I'd be on the road within 3 days. If I go with the rhd I wont be on the road for 2 or 3 weeks I would say.

Bought my LHD for $1900 running. If he was really your "buddy" he would ask maximum 3k... Just because it is a RHD does not make it double in my opinion.

PS. good luck with your patience on waiting on parts coming overseas XD

You bought an LHD, K swapped Del Sol for $1900? Or did you just skip over that part of his post?

$4500 is extremely reasonable for a K swapped RHD Del Sol. It's probably pushing a little on the high side, since the motor isn't actually installed, but since it should come with everything you need, that seems like a decent price to me.

My logic was if it isn't coming with seats, it most likely isn't coming with a pulled "non-stock" engine that he called a "rolling shell." Plus it is missing a few other things that are unstated.

If I were him, I would sell the transtop unit. Heavy, expensive to maintain, and a hot commodity right now. Just my two cents.

No mine is not k swapped, but you can find a scrapped Acura/Honda with a k engine for little to nothing. Honestly it is cool, but NOS never goes out of style my friend. I would prefer a vtec swap or mini me.

So basically, there are a number of things we need to know before we can even try to give it a fair value. It's pretty quaint that you think a scrapped K is all you need for a K swap, though. There's quite a bit more to it than that. A properly K swapped 5G or 6G in decent condition is worth $5k, right off the bat.

Yes its coming with nothing, I made the decision and I got it. https://honda-tech.com/appearance-bu.../#post50408897 Is the post where every detail about it. The delsol has a great deal of work a brake line tuck kit, Walbro fuel pump and lotts of money out into shaving the engine bay, rust free and comes with lots of the rare jdm options and it has a trans top which if you dont know what it is it means the top comes off by a push of a botton. Well worth the money! will come with mint rsx seats but I have DC2 Recaro's Be sure to follow the build guys! Doesnt come with k swap I'm giving him the mount and shifter and putting my ls vtec in her

Default I Need Quick Advice On This Del Sol.

Hey guys, member from long, long, ago when I had a CRX, but I guess my account was deleted at some point.

Long story short, my car broke down and I need a car to drive ~80 miles a day until I save up for something better. I'm looking for something reliable, fun to drive, that I can fix myself. I found this Del Sol about 10 minutes away from my house.

1993 Honda Civic del Sol (rare!) convertible

Here's the follow up e-mail from the owner.

Here are a few more pics. I can call, if you have questions.
These pics were taken Friday without vacuuming. I did rinse off the dust from the exterior.
The hood was replaced by the previous owner & is primer. There is a dent in the right side, just behind the door. A tree had fallen on the hood & broke the right window, which was replaced. Minor damage to the paint on the roof & right door, has been partially repaired. The window molding is kept in the trunk, for after the door is properly painted. I just have never done it. The hood & windshield was replaced. The A/C works, but needs recharged. The cruise control doesn't work. The brake & engine dash-lights stay on. But, I've had them checked & they don't indicate an actual problem The switches are bad.
I don't drive the car anymore. I use my truck or Harley.

Normally there are matts in the floor and yellow seat covers. I took the pics to show the original seats & floor.
The car is kept inside.
Are you near this area? Sry, I don't have much time to show or sell the car, due to an urgent family illness.
Thanx
Should I be concerned about the electrical? Should I offer $2,000?

3k is way too much. 2k would be on the high side for me, but i'm cheap.

A lot of stuff going on with this car. If you need a reliable car wit AC, I would keep looking. Does it leak? AC will most likely take some cash to get going (beyond charging it). Brake light and CEL on. Nothing really mentioned about state of motor other than there's codes that aren't there??. Body is very sub par and.would need tons of cash (unless you're great at paint prep and don't mind Earl Sheib paint work) It ain't worth $1500 let alone $3k.

If I was needing temporary transportaion, I'd look at 92-00 Civic 4 doors. There are a lot of them and can be had cheap.

The most often used line of bullshit I have ever seen in car ads is: "A/C works, just needs a recharge."

I call bullshit, I don't know what the weather is like where you live, OP, but its been close to 100 degrees here for the last month. If you are sweating your *** off in traffic for weeks when "all it needs is a recharge", you're a god damned idiot. Despite the amount of idiots out there, there are an equal or higher number of liars.

Having a bought a lot of cars, I feel I can safely say that when you go to buy a car, there is a 99.95% chance the seller is lying to you about SOMETHING. And the fact that the CEL is on, "but doesn't indicate a problem" means that this dude not only is lying his *** off, he thinks you're idiot enough to believe him. **** that noise, if the CEL is on, something is wrong. It might be a small or easily fixable problem, but it's not a "bad switch".

Thinking of buying this heap to part out.

*94 CX hatch
*just under 325000 miles on chassis
*blown HG d15 (water pump failed and it overheated and popped the HG, still spins good, bottom end is fine)
*stock CX trans ***** smooth
*Comes with a "good" OEM hood and a bumper that need paint but has no cracks and includes an OE lip (I need a hood and lip LOL)
*hoping it has workig A/C I can steal too haven't heard back yet
*interior probably smells like an ashtray based on the shifter pic
*quarter rust makes it worthless as anything except a parts bitch.

Not sure if it's worth the hassle. I've parted out 2 cars and did well on both but this one's iffy. What, if anything, would you offer for this chassis with a blown motor?

I dunno man, how desperate are you for extra cash lol? I'd say if you can pick it up for a couple hundred bucks then you could probably make out fairly well, but it's going to be a good bit of work for not a whole lot of return so I think it all depends on your willingness. If your someone who has a good network to get the parts sold and scraps stuff on a regular basis it's probably a better idea than for someone who just sells a few parts here and there on the side.

Pretty desperate at all times LOL. Gotta hustle man. He want's $500. I'm thinking of offering more like $350. I drive a 92 CX. I could strip this bitch in 4 days. Down to NOTHING. More so wondering if the sum of the parts is worth at least $850 or so. I think I can get a grand out of it if I really pull EVERYTHING of value.
