Regardless of whether I have them on my FA5 or not, they are the best coil-overs made for the 8th gen and I wish I did. I do have a set on my CRX and it rides great on the street with the race set-up, every person I have taken for a ride can't believe how nice it rides and it's pretty low (see pic). I bought the CRX a few months ago, the previous owner just won the 2009 National championship in STS in this car (it actually took 1st and 2nd in the class). He drove the car to and from Nats (Atlanta to Lincoln, NE) with his wife and the back fully loaded no problems (like I said the cars rides amazing on the street/hwy). He let me co-drive it a few times before I bought it and I could pretty much keep up with him, we traded off fastest laps. Even though it pretty much has a stock D-series with bolts ons (115whp) it is one most fun/best handling cars I have ever driven.

^how can you say that they are the best when you haven't ridden or driven with them on an 8th gen?? theres a big difference in size and weight of a crx as compared to a current gen civic.

I can say they are the best because they are the best coil-overs made for 8th gens. Name another coil-over that is better offered for the latest gen Civic. There is nothing out there than has the build quality or range of repeatable adjustment that Moton offers. You can make the car ride like you want if you know what you are doing. I was just trying to give my personal experience on them. I know several other people with Motons and they are very happy with them. As soon as I can afford putting a set on my daily driver I will, but I personally don't see the need of modding my daily like most fan boys.

i'm not a suspension genius but im sure there's other companies in the ball park or even better.
im just busting your ***** because you came out the gate saying that theres nothing better than moton. thats like me saying that the my c300 is the best car out there. there's always something better.
no hard feelings toward you pal

motons probably are the best ones that are made right now. lets just say they dont sell products at that price just for a name. but i think the OP wanted to know the best coilovers for the average price range. like ~$1k

OP: give us your maximum realistic price you'd be willing to pay for a set. and then we'll throw you answers that would actually help you.

ok now i looked at the hfp, but its not as low as i want it, if u look at my album u can see how low it is now, thats how low i want it... can i still change the spring on the hfp to the lowering spring i have now and get the smooth ride that i want? or will it be as bumpy as it is now? sorry if that was a stupid question, like i said b4 this isnt my area of expertice...

So you'll be right back to where you're at now.

Re: what are the best full coilovers out there right now for the fa5?
okay so right now I'm an in a similar predicament as the OP, except my car is stock. So far I have $1k saved, and I really don't want to spend more than $3k. I was originally thinking the skunk 2 Pro S. I don't really care about that ride quality, I think.. I've never really ridden in a dropped car, other than my dad's corvette when I was younger, but the ride didn't bother me and he was like 2" off the ground. Also, for the Skunk 2's do you need a camber kit or sway bars to access their "full potential" I guess you would say. obviously with more mods it could always get better, but are they worth getting before I have the money to get the other stuff?
Edit: Actually now that I look at it, the Pro C seem like they are essentially better, even for DD application, and are less likely the blow out or bottom out. If i go skunk 2 is there any reason not to get Pro C ?

I have the Skunk2 Pro-S, it's cheap and it ads a nice drop. If you really want to step it up a little, i guess some Tein Basics or Skunk2 Pro-C
