Default R18 M/T Trans hard to pull out of 2nd and into 3rd.

Hey everyone this problem started yesterday. I normally take the the car out of first or second gear using the split second chance you get from going into decel (this way you can pull it out of gear without using the clutch). However I was pulling in a parking lot yesterday, I pull it out of second gear and instead of transitioning into neutral it was stuck half way out of 2nd. Some grinding occurred. I put the clutch in, the shifter wont budge, pull the clutch out, grinding, but no stalling. Put the clutch back in and push the shifter in every direction possible using force. Finally the shifter moves, but now it is stuck half way in 4th gear (or all the way in?). I don't know why that happened but it was definitely an unnatural position for the shifter to be in. I take the shifter and push it towards first as hard as I can. There was a lot of resistance, but it went into first, then began shifting normally. All gears were accessible like normal.

So last night, I hop on my home street, shifting normally, pull it out of second (with the clutch in this time, putting it into 3rd) and it starts freaking out again. Doesn't want to go in any gear. I have to force it into 1st so I can access my regular shifting pattern.

I took it out today for a wash and now every transition into 3rd is difficult and I have to apply an unnatural amount of force to get the shifter into 3rd. The higher the RPMs coming out of 2nd, the harder it is to get into 3rd (I have experimented enough, it may be the faster I pull it out of 2nd and into 3rd, rather than higher RPMs). Idk what is going on with my transmission, but I wanted to know if this was common at all? This is weird. I have 70k miles and all maintenance.

Sounds like you have a linkage problem, I would check out the shifter cables before you go pulling the trans.

There is not much on adjusting the shifter in the service manual, I had my si apart as far as changing the bushings when I changed the clutch, I put in a set of hard urethane bushings to get rid of the slop in my shifter, it helped it a bit.

Rpm is going to affect linkage? Well this was the only thing I could think of anyways. I guess I'll look at the linkage when it stops raining here.

You probably bent or broke a shift fork.

It's not a sequential transmission. The clutch is there for a reason. Use it.

You think so? Something certainly feels bent so you could be very right here. Is a shift fork part of the linkage or is that internal.

Someone on ******** mentioned syncros which didn't even cross my mind considering how new my car is still. It sounds plausible though, because at low RPM it shifts into 3rd like butter. However when it goes into stupid mode it just doesn't want to go into any of the front gears at all (1st, 3rd, 5th) so that makes me say it's def not the syncros.
