Pretty sure you're going to need the Honda HDS to program that key. Why did you buy aftermarket locks anyways? What was wrong with the Honda one?

I'll second that...
But for the key to be programmed, you need a code... which comes from Honda.
From what I gather, the dealer has to call Honda and probably give them some
information such as dealership credentials and also the vehicle/owner info. Then
Honda supplies them with a code. I think this is the same if you change the ECU
in the car as well.

Re: honda civic key programming
We use the HDS to program the key, we have a pass code that changes every other month for security purpose. My dealer charges $50 to program the key and a $100 for the key.

Hey guys,
Even though this post is really old....just want to say thanks for the great info. Trying to help friend of mine, at least now I know it definitely needs to go to "stealer-ship" to get this done. Btw, anyone know how long this process usually takes? Thanks again guys
