why would you do that?
the car is only 3 years old
yes after market means it is brand new lock set but not from honda dealer.i bought from local market in 100 usd dealer's price 500 usd.in 100 usd it is brand new lock set unused but my car not reeady to starts if you know tech to programming please help me
But for the key to be programmed, you need a code... which comes from Honda.
From what I gather, the dealer has to call Honda and probably give them some
information such as dealership credentials and also the vehicle/owner info. Then
Honda supplies them with a code. I think this is the same if you change the ECU
in the car as well.
Even though this post is really old....just want to say thanks for the great info. Trying to help friend of mine, at least now I know it definitely needs to go to "stealer-ship" to get this done. Btw, anyone know how long this process usually takes? Thanks again guys
