09 vs 05 SI
I drove my friend's 09 the other day. I didnt like it too much. Power was there but it was not a sporty ride. It's been a few years since I had my GSR but that car felt sportier. I sold my S2K last year, so that might be why I didnt think my friend's SI was that sporty.
That being said, anyone driven the previous gen SI and the new one? What's the comparison like....the feel of the car and not the specs.

Re: 09 vs 05 SI
The newer Si models were built with a combination of performance and comfort in mind for a daily driver and for all age groups. Much different than the GSR which I think is geared more towards performance than comfort.
The demand and overall crowd has changed from present day to back in the day when the GSRs and Type Rs rolled out.
But don't let it fool you though. The Si has it's performance edge. So don't mistake ride comfort for a lack in handling. It's there.
The '05 Si is a decent car at best. I used to work at Honda and had the "pleasure" of driving a few and the power's just not there. And the shifter although it's conveniently closer to the steering wheel by being on the dash, it just feels awkward shifting from that angle. With a nice drop and a simple lip kit they can look pretty good. And the engine has potential for good tuning.....but in stock form it's just not as fun as the new Si to drive.
So yeah.....coming from an S2K to an Si is a bit of an adjustment. RWD to FWD. Oversteer to mad understeer. It's a different type of driving style that you have to get used to. But nothing a decent coilover kit and some sway bars with a few tweaks can't fix.

fg2 and fa5 str8 up all the way.....with basic bolt-ons you can have enough power to keep heads up with an s2k( overall sayin the s2k is stock lol), plus with basic little **** you can get what you want out of the car....
the ep3 on the other hand lacked a bit to its standards...the k20a3 feels the same as the b16a2 on the 99-00 si's.....its like a little minivan....
in my opinion i pick the new siz over the ep3s.....its your choice in the end..get what u like..

Very true statement. I once had an opportunity to push a Chevy Lumina hard on the track (and also a Honda Accord) back in the early 90s. The Lumina felt out of control and sloppy vs. the Accord. But track numbers don't lie. The Lumina actually grip and performed better. I could not believe that behind the wheel.

The S2K is at its peak power though. Unless you S/C or turbo it there is nothing left to gain except a few ponies
