I know there are slight differences for the 14 and 15 civic si's, but which is better? in terms of suspension, engine, tranny, exhaust. I wanna get one here soon so I wanna know which to go pick.

It's the same nothing change in regards to suspension, engine, tranny or exhaust... go with the cheaper one so you have more money for mods if anything.

So should I go new or used?
If I go new I can get the navi, the red interior lighting, and the color I want.
It's damn near impossible to find that anywhere near me in a 14.

On the lot at my dealer, there is a used 2014 Si coupe with a higher price tag than what I paid for my 2014 new.

For sure search around, even it means getting outside of your local area. It seems there is a demand for them.

If its payment that you are shopping by, it might actually be cheaper to get new, with the financing offerings that are out there.

I think I am going to go to a dealer tomorrow and check out what is there. I'll let y'all know what I find.

never got a chance to go. sorry for not getting back sooner. got busy with work and what not.
im still undecided. id love to get a certified pre-owned 2014 civic si sedan blue, with nav. but that is the hardest thing to find. ive found one but its nearly 500 miles away from me. if yall find something let me know.
can a dealership locate ALL the certified pre-owned vehicles in the Honda dealership world??

The dealership can find it, get it for you and tack on a few bucks for doing it for you, or you can just do it yourself.

Here is how it is going to go down: You walk into the local Honda dealer and tell them you want a Sedan, certified with navi, go find me one. A week later they respond and tell you they found one in the next state over for $21k. Then you hop online and find a sedan, certified with navi in the next state over for $19k. -son of a gun....how the hell? So you go back to your dealer and say, hey I also found one in the next state over at another Honda dealer, exactly as you described for $19k, care to go with that $19k price? The dealer tells you all of the sudden he can't get it.

Just my opinion, the idea of buying a car from your local dealership is somewhat a thing of the past, unfortunately. The guy in Cali is competing against the guy in New York with the Internet involved. That might be exaggerated, but you get my drift. Dealers make money on service and parts, not the cars on the lot. There is actually very little mark up in cars on the lot. -So whether you get a car from Joeys Honda down the street or Sams Honda 3 states over, the best deal will be found online almost every time. Fly and drives, a weekend road trip with your buddy...you can get creative for the right vehicle.
If you do go out of state, be prepared to cough up the $$ for tax when you register. Often times, the dealership can't include that in the purchase price or the financing if you are out of state. I could be wrong, so check on that.

You are comparing two entirely different cars. Have you bothered doing research on your own? You ask a 2014 vs 2015 question which is answered by Google and then want to compare a WRX (unknown trim, year, used/new, etc) and a SI.

Two completely different animals, each good in their own respects. I went to the Honda dealer to get a used STI and walked out with a Civic Si. Pick your own battle.

understood that google can answer my questions. however, on this forum people actually know about hondas and can answer more questions. I have done A LOT of research on my own. just wanted opinions and answers on what is different between the 14 and 15 si's.

I think the differences are very minimal. Nothing that is enough to sway one way or another...

Like I said before, the best price will be found online. On my lot, a used 14 Si coupe with 14k miles is listed for more than I paid for my car new.

And the tires are completely horrible, unless it has the optional Conti Sport Contacts, then its marginally good. Read my thread about my 14 Si.

FYI, I paid 22,449 out the door including tags, title, and tax for my new 14 Si Coupe w/out navi here in ATL last May. Not sure what they are priced at currently. But that should give you a baseline to work off of. Over all I am 100% satisfied. Currently 13,000 miles and no problems whatsoever. Only Mod so far is a K&N typhoon SRI....up coming magnaflow cat-back followed by flashpro and a vit tune....and also getting some tires that aren't garbage.

Come to think of it, the only thing I can find wrong with the vehicle is the way the rain channels sit on the roof allows dew to run off and drip directly down into your window and lock controls. Not a deal breaker but who really wants water dripping into their electronic components. So, be aware if you smoke or enjoy having your windows down a bit during the morning commute after dew has formed the night before, consider investing in some rain guards.

And in all honesty I really liked the Blue paint scheme as well...initially. Personal preference here, but I went with black because the blue made the black on red interior look wonky. But to each their own. That blue is a fantastic color! And it ended up becoming a bargaining point to bring the price down on the black model they had in stock! I spent at least three days telling them they could shove it on the black model because I only wanted a blue.....and now I have the black one.....and I have to wash it religiously like I'm Cinderella without her glass slippers.

There's always going to be people like that. I don't know why but they tend to do this kind of **** alot and that is when answers start sound wrong.

The red lighting isn't worth crap. I have it, you can't see it, even in the dead of dark. Epic fail for the ridiculous price, if I ever want it to be worthwhile I will need to upgrade the crap out of it so it actually puts out some light.

The only thing on the car I completely hate and feel ripped off on.

Everything else, it's a great little package - sub-3k lbs and the LSD is the real deal. As much as folks hate on it, I think it could be a fast package, within the framework it's relevant in. Will it beat a 1700lb frankencivic DX? Hell no. Struts on on the front mean the suspension is inferior.. but always turn off traction control and it's a pretty nicely tossable little package.

I would agree with this guy wanting to get a pure Si VTEC without a blower on it but that's just me and I drive an Si at least once a year as a freelance road tester for various sites. But as for 2014, Honda made a number of handling, steering and other enhancements that are noticeable but that was only done for the coupe. The 2015 sedan got the full coupe enhancements so a 2015 Honda Civic Si sedan is going to be highly sought after one day. Best manual gearbox in the world. I loved it even in orange.

Yes, this is an available color

Doesn't match the red seats

Buy it in red, black or grey. I try a new car each week and honestly, I would buy a 2015 Civic Si sedan no question if I had my preference and needed a car.

Also, currently you can buy a Honda App on your smartphone for $50 that feeds navigation to the center screen as opposed to spending the extra $2,000 for navigation like it used to cost.
