2009 Honda Civic problems
Hello All
I have a 2009 Honda Civic LX 1.8 Liter Automatic tranny with 95xxx miles. I recently (and unfortunately) ran over a deer that a semi had clipped right in front of me. My insurance company covered it as comprehensive coverage and fixed my car, or so I thought. However, about 2-3 weeks after my civic being fixed, I got a check engine light accompanied with a blinking D. I cruised this forum for answers and couldn't find what I was looking for, so I decided to post.
The blinking D is sometimes there and sometimes its not. The check engine light is usually there, but has also went off at random times. I told my insurance company about it and they said bring it back in to the shop to have it looked at. The code came back as P0993. They said this couldn't be caused from the accident, but my lawyer thinks otherwise, however, I still need to get my car fixed. The place where I got my car fixed says this transmission fluid pressure sensor switch F is inside the transmission.
Could anyone verify this or give me a part number with instructions or at least the location if possible. I have a friend that's a great mechanic that could do this job, however, he doesn't work on a lot of Hondas
Thanks in advance

Re: 2009 Honda Civic problems
After re-reading the diagnostic report, I found that the code was P0983 and not the one I had listed prior. The code says "Open in Shift Solenoid Valve D Circuit." I hope this information could allow someone to help as to the location of this part or how to fix it.

Re: 2009 Honda Civic problems
It may very possibly be related to running over the deer. Under the front of the car, there is a Blk/Gry 8-P engine wire harness that plug into shift solenoid wire harness. The shift solenoid wire harness is inside the transmission case (see image). The Shift Control Solenoid Valve D wire is a yellow wire (see image). From outside the transmission (underneath the front), you should only be able to see the Blk/Gry 8-P connector (not pictured) -- check that the connector is securely plugged in and those wires first.
