Maybe Hydrolocked, Please Help!!!
So I was coming home from the store one night and it started to rain pretty heavy and I drove very carefully and took roads I know that do not usually flood I got about within 1/4 mile from my house and as I was turning onto my street there was a puddle of water right in the turn that could not be avoided due to traffic, etc. The car drove for about 2 - 3 secs then loss all power and kicked a CEL and BATT PWR lights and had no throttle response, I immediately shut the car off and drifted into a local store where the car is not sitting. I let the car sit for about 30 mins before trying anything at all, then when I turned on it started fine with no CELs or any other kind of light and revs fine at first but after I press on the accelerator the car revs fine, the drops then there is a little flux in the RPMs for a couple of secs where it will bounce around between 800 - 1000 RPMs then settle again. Is it possible that the CAI i have took in water but the car killed it before any damage was done or is there water possibly still present that will cause damage once I start driving? I currently am running a Skunk 2 Racing CAI, And if my car is fine can I pull off the tubing after the MAF housing making it into some kind of short ram for the time being until I find out whats going on? That is the only modification I currently have at this time (K20Z3). Thanks for any help, advice, and/or tips.

Oh just to add for your knowledge I did not drive the car after I started it up due to the fear of what might happen if I did, the car still sits at the store.

I actually drove it home this morning not even 20 mins ago because the car was tagged as abandoned by the local police, there were no problems or CELs, could there still be potential damage? I just want to be sure.

There could always be a little damage as we can't really tell without looking.
When you took it for a drive did you notice any stuttering? When you accelerated did it feel sluggish? Did you notice a loss of power? Also did you hit VTEC to see how it felt?

I'd get in there and do a cylinder leakage test. If you don't know how to do it brintg it to shop. This should tell you if there's any kind of damage.
You could stick a large screw driver down each spark plug hole with the piston at Top Dead Center on the cylinder your testing and mark on the screwdriver right where it's sitting in relation to the valve cover. This will tell you if you have bent any conneting rod's from Hydrolock.
If you could drive it and it sounded OK you should be good but I would still do some testing.

no the car does not act abnormal at all from what I can tell, not even when the IVTEC engages, A friend of mine said that it is possible that I stalled the car when hitting the puddle cause of the water maybe suffocating the filter some how, I know that I was not accelerating at all it was at a idle when i coasted through the water, he said that maybe I stalled it and that could explain the CEL, BATT PWR and loss of power which at the time it happened I did panic and kill the car so I am not even sure if it was already off when I turned the ignition off. I went to an empty parking lot and performed a reenactment to which everything happened ( minus the water of course ) and it did perform the very same way with the CEL, BATT PWR, and loss of power, so I am hoping that this was the case and maybe I am VERY lucky.
