YOYOYO I'M BACK!!!!!!!
Alright, around the time of early June, I made the switch from my FG2 to an AP1. Now I have a white FA5 coming in a few days, one of the last 07's in IL. The only thing is I'm not gonna have my navi. So hello again everybody!!

haha...yea a lotta people keep asking. The S2k is a great car, don't get me wrong. But it's just too much of a cop magnet. Or maybe I'm just having bad luck. Too much trouble and attention, not to mention a DUI. I was driving 74mph on the highway, cruising with traffic and I'm the one who gets pulled over. Then the breathalizer came, and I pulled a .082, legal limit .080. So I'm pissed, I just want to get rid of it. This is the 3rd time I got pulled over, 2nd ticket, 1st DUI.

you should have asked for the device source code. That seems to be the popular request of late. If a device is going to determine your guilt of an offense, you should at least be able to check the code that device runs on to ensure you arent being cheated. Wouldn't be hard to make a device say .082 when it registers anything from .078 to .08

A DUI for 0.082 is complete horsesh!t. You got screwed.
Usually you don't get brethalized for no reason though.. so you must have stunk like booze or been driving like an idiot.. or both.

Unlike the others on here, I have no sympathy for people who drink and drive. Seriously hope you get your act together. If not, I hope you get pulled over everytime you D&D.

Wow, I am not sure how it works where you live, but I believe in CA you can refuse the breath test and request a blood test instead. If I thought I were close, I would insist on the blood test. By the time the police got you to the clinic to draw blood, your BAL (Blood Alcohol Level) might have dropped below the legal limit.
The down side of doing this that you get a handcuffed ride in a police car to the clinic, not to mention the "hands on" escort while in the clinic. You also will be booked and held for bail until the blood test results are released.
My experience with this was many years ago (25 years ago) so I don't know of the laws have changed. However, I do believe you can insist on the blood test.

That may be a state to state thing. I know that in Ohio where I have my license, when you sign it, one of the things you agree to is that if you refuse a breath-a-lizer, you can automatically lose your license for one year. Doesn't matter what your blood may reveal later.

I live in Streamwood. I got pulled over by state police on I-90 going west. And for everybody out there .082 was achevied drinking 3 beers in about an hour. I wasn't even buzzed. But it just goes to show how tight the law really is.

Its not called being hard, its called doing their job which is to catch drivers who drinked.. So what if you were just 0.002 above the limit..? you still were above it, and its the law. Some laws are stupid but the driving and drinking isnt one.. thats for sure

Indeed you are right. Some laws ARE stupid. A while back I got pulled over for cutting through a parking lot cause the bus in front of me was broken down. AND I GOT A TICKET. I was going maybe 5-10 mph through the lot....which is really slow....and still got a ticket. I think that's a retarded law, but that's just me. The officer wouldn't even hear my explanation.
The drinking and driving law is FAR from stupid though. Blowing a .081 might not seem like such a big deal....but alcohol affects people differently depending on weight, gender, tolerance, etc. So one person might not feel anything with a .08 and can pass all the field sobriety tests, while another could feel it big time and fall on his face. That's why the police are so strict about this law. THEY'RE NOT TAKING CHANCES!
