sun visor repair
#3
that happened to me too, on both my visors...they melted so they're kinda separated. They wont go up all the way, so i have to keep them down all the time till the ones honda ordered for me come in. I took it in and it was covered by warranty, so everything is free.

Re: (ACExWASxHERE)
Two dealerships here are hoping Honda does a recall. The service tech told me they all keep tools in their desks because so many have been coming in for the same issue. Mine was replaced under warantee. It was totally separated.

Another thing to note, from everything I have heard, this usually only happens to people in warm climates. (I'm in LV, so it happened a couple weeks after I owned the car).

Yeah i have people on the daily comin in and asking for new ones, but they are on national backorder right now. I replaced my driver 1 twice already and the pass once. for a shitty design

same damn thing happened to me. the visor came apart. i took it back to honda and they replaced the driver side one and i made them replace the passanger side one too. if you looked at the passenger side one, it was starting to come apart.

Re: sun visor repair
I've had to replace 2 driver side visors so far and have had to pay for both of them (2006 Civic). How can they be replaced for free at this late date? (Though, they should be since Honda screwed up so badly on the design - I nearly wrecked the first time the damned thing fell down in my face!).

Re: sun visor repair
I fixed a friend's loose visor by wrapping a short piece of coat hanger around the shaft, between the spring and the metal washer the spring pivots against. All that did was compress the spring a bit, which creates more friction. It worked like a charm. I recall finding this trick either on this forum, or some other one.
The coat hanger piece needs to be cut to the right length to encircle the shaft and bent and then forced into place with needle nose pliers.
