Default 2013 Civic Si Intake Install

I installed my DC Sports intake last night on my '13 Si. The hose that comes off the crank case and into the intake did not have any clamps for it, and the directions do not mention putting clamps on either end of that hose. I have seen other installs where they have clamps. Is this normal to not have clamps on this hose?

Here is the intake as it is now:

Short term, you'll be OK. Just get some hose clamps as soon as you can to be safe.

Also, you might want to trim down that breather hose about an inch. It looks pinched.

What size clamps do I need for the breather hose?

What is happening if it is in fact pinched?

Anything else look off about my install?

This. Just measure the breather hose diameter and buy accordingly.

Otherwise looks like every other pipe-and-filter SRI available.

Cool thx.

So if the breather hose is pinched like that, what happens? Just curious.

You end up getting air infused oil trapped in your valve cover that will eventually clog the line. It is supposed to allow excess crank case vapours out and into the intake air stream to get burned off in the chambers.

Let this pinch stand for too long and you could low seals R create leaks.

I cut off like an inch and now it seems to fit with no kink.

If anyone can tell me what size clamps I need, it'll help

The standard 3/4" or 7/8" diameter hose clamps found at any hardware or automotive parts store will do.

5/16"-7/8" inch. Think that'll work?

The Majestic Honda site says 12.5mm or half inch. Grab the Autocraft one you mentioned, one for each end.

Can't go wrong with those.

That seemed to work. That hose isn't going anywhere.

Average gas mileage has already dropped .1 mpg since Thursday. That's a little concerning to me

More air=more fuel. Also most intakes can make the maf reading to be off without tuning.

True, and it's chilly now so that probably affects gas mileage in a negative way with a SRI.

What sort of tuning?
