Cleaning a short ram intake filter
First off, I have cleaned a short ram intake filter before with a K&N filter cleaning kit. That being said, I am wondering if anyone out there has a different procedure for cleaning their reusable air filter elements. I am looking for a method that is possibly easier or maybe save me a trip to the store.
I have an injen sri with cone filter element it came with.

Re: Cleaning a short ram intake filter
you should use the cleaning kits. you oil the filter after cleaning to prevent debris and other stuff from passing through the filter media and going into your engine. although the debris would be small...the volume of air and the amount of particles that go into your intake and eventually to your engine could do harm.
if you dont like doing this then buy the AEM dry filter intake.

Depends what type of filter it is. If it is the type I've posted here, dunking it in soapy water is all you need to do. No special cleaners necessary.
