mine its pretty much dead on with reaction time.
the only time it lags is when the clutch isnt fully engaged which is the hill assist feature.

Wait. I don't think the Si has a hill assist feature? And you wouldn't want lag on the throttle when you are sitting on a hill. If you did you would drift back even further waiting for throttle to come on. A car with hill assist uses brakes to hold the car in place while you engage the clutch

Re: Question about drive by wire.
This system does have some learning to do, as it does take a bit to adjust to the drivers demands. It will get use to what the driver does as long as he does it normally all the time.
This system does have other features like: Guessing what the driver is going to do and adjust for it before the driver does it. It is suppose to help emissions by pre-planning what to do if....... then I will do this. You get my point.
Another thing it will do is provide feedback to the pedal too. Just in case you feel something moving your foot.
What will be next?

Re: Question about drive by wire.
Shift into the wrong gear and you will have delays.
I have two gauges, digital boost/vac and electronic boost/vac gauge in my Si, absolutely no hesitation. Gauges are registering instantaneously with pressure on the gas pedal. If there were any lag with the DBW or ETC as mogman pointed out, the gauges would be slow to react as well.

I just took my update class for smog and they now call it "ETC" or Electric Throttle Control.

Does it have to relearn every time you start the car up? Or does it have like a memory bank? If someone borrows my car for the day, will it adjust and learn that quickly?

Re: Question about drive by wire.
This has been known for some time, even with some prior Honda ECUs. Why piggy back tuning systems don't do so well. The ECU learns to readjust against the piggy back as well as adjusting to driving conditions. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes usually resets the memory. Do a search, even older Hondas had "learning" ECUs.
