Windsheild wiper fluid motor?
Hey all,
I've been having problems with my wiper fluid lately. One day, they weren't really working, but held the switch and eventually got flowing. Figured maybe the nozzles were just a little frozen and all was well.
After a couple days they stopped working again and just figured it was empty. My wife took the car to work today, as I was working on hers, and she just called me and said she filled the tank and there was no flow. This was a car that my Mom abandoned in my driveway so I have no idea what has been in there or for how long.
How do I tell if it's a problem with frozen lines / nozzles or the motor itself? If it is frozen and I pull the stalk, should I still hear the motor try to pump? Is there some other way to test the motor?
Thanks

Re: Windsheild wiper fluid motor?
if u can here the pump working then its good and not ur pump.
if u can here ur pump and then see a puddle of water on the ground afterwards then theres a leak somewhere in the bottle, lines, motor seal etc..
if u can here the pump, no leak but will not spray then ur nozzle is probably clogged
if u live in really cold climate then yes the fluid inside the bottle can freeze

Thanks, that's what I was hoping. Just wasn't sure if there was blockage that it would stall the motor. I'll check it out tomorrow.

That's what I would have thought, but apparently that wasn't the case (it's been down in the single digits here.) I brought it into the garage today and let it sit after having the car fully warmed up and they thawed out. Ran a bunch of fluid through there so that the lines would be full with the proper stuff. New one for me, thanks guys.
