Whats the difference between UK and US spec EM2?
Hi,
I just wanted to know what the differences are between the UK spec and US spec of the EM2 2001-2003
I am intrested because i wanted to purchase the haynes manual but i don't think that the UK version is available yet. Is it worth buying the US haynes manual for my UK spec EM2?
I have searched and found nothing. Please help
Thanks
edit: i have now purchased the chilton manual

The UKDM EM2 I think is reffered to as the Ferio right?
And it is Right hand drive to my knowledge. Ask Andy, (OnlyUK7thGen) He can tell you, he has one.

Yes i do and yes it is! The UKDM version is just called "coupe", it's not even called EX or LSi or anything like that.
There is no conventional version of the 4-door saloon 7th gen offered here, all you can buy is a 1.5 litre petrol-electric hybrid, because small saloons (or sedans as you guys say) of any brand don't sell in many numbers in th UK, so there isn't really a market for them.
The UKDM 4-door is simply called "Civic saloon hybrid"; FERIO is just the Japanese name for saloon as far as i know. (Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm 90% sure on this). Well, whatever the case, the UK sedan isn't called Ferio anyways.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by B18a_CRX »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ya i thought it was the Ferio, its just a RHD ES isnt it?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I don't think its a version of the ES, i believe its a twist on the US EX (EX is the top of the US range, right?) and as far as i'm aware there is only one UK spec level; full electrics kit and sunroof, climate control & A/C, 127bhp vtec, rear sway etc. The 7th gen coupe is also bloody rare over here. I think this is because there weren't that many 6th gen coupes sold here either, so Honda didn't import many 7th's and kept the range to a bare minimum. Which is cool, cos you can go for weeks without seeing another 7th gen coupe.

As for this question...well, i dont know to be honest. As far as mechanical differences go, i'd say there'll be a difference in steering rack and track rods at the very least. Chassis wise, i presume (and from what ive read on HT) they're pretty similar.
I can't find a Haynes manual either...but does that really surprise you considering the lack of any info about the 7th gen over here?
Its almost as if they don't exist!
So, to sum up...i can't help you much either dude!

As stated, the 04-05 facelifted 7th gen coupe wasn't offered over here. The 04-05 sedan was, but only as a petrol electric hybrid.
Here's the **** end of mine anyway;
and here's the back of a sedan hybrid for good measure;

I just want to make sure that we know for sure that this is a picture of a UKDM/JDM Ferio of the 01-03 era.
Because if it is, it would indicate that they adopted in advance of the USDM the more modern look that succeeded the 03 Civic look in USDM.

I'd say yes. Simply because there's not many HUGE differences between the two cars. You might have backup sensors and extra fog lighting in the rear, and you might need to reverse the internal wiring schematic, because the steering wheel is on the opposite side, but that shouldn't be enough to deterr you from buying it.

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but this isn't a UKDM/JDM 01-03, its an 04-05 UKDM/JDM. The 01-03 had the same front end as the US 01-03's, the 04-05 UKDM/JDM Ferio has the same front as a 04-05 USDM coupe/Ferio (or Sedan, whatever you wanna call it).
