It would not help... it's not listed in there...
Either call the dealership, of do a drain, filter change, and refill. Then fill it up with a couple quarts, start the car, let it idle, and check the level and fill from there.

Seems like the dealership will be your only hope, unless someone here knows... but most people with an automatic, on this forum, probably haven't done their own fluid changes.

Um, no.
You need to start the car, and let it idle, depress the brake, and manually shift the car throughout the gears to allow the fresh fluid to get into the valve bodies, and inside the shift solenoids.

does that have anything do do with checking the fluid level with the car running or not running?

Re: tranny fluid capacity (mikeformos03dx)
The manual sayss (not exact words): Run the car til its warm, after you turn off the car, check fluids quickly under 40 seconds after the car turns off.
And the shifting part after the fluid change is so that you make the best out of the fluid change instead of doing a whole tranny flush. I'm really glad our AT trannies come with a magnetic plug, you can clearly see all of the metal shavings that it catches... but then again, we don't have transmission fluid filters from factory...
