I have a 2001 Honda Civic w/leaking sunroof. Had the drain lines blown out, but still leaks. There is a tear in the seal in front, so it appears to be the culprit. Any advice on replacing the seal? Honda dealership is saying the whole sunroof needs replacing as it is attached to the glass. Does anyone know if this tear can just be repaired (glued or other)? Appreciate ANY help.

for a cheap may or may not help fix, try applying some black weatherstrip adhesive, or silicone sealant to the felt seal on the glass, or on the roof, allow time to cure.

Thanks, but now after a few days of pouring water all over the car, find that it is the windshield seal. Had the windshield replaced close to a year ago, thought the leak was the sunroof...live and learn. I guess now I don't have any warranty for the windshield install. Anyone have advise on do it yourself windshield seal fixes? Guess I may need to just face the fact I have to pay a windshield installer to fix it.

Check for any warranty from your windshield installer, national chains may have one. Have you isolated the leak, top, side, bottom?. Could try silicone or weatherstrip adhesive to patch over the leaking area. Windshields use urethane to hold the glass into place, this helps to provide structural integrity between the laminated windshiled and the body. Only met one guy who was good at removing windshields intact, so would recommend having a professional attempt to remove the glass, if that approach is being used. Are you in a high temperature area, or one with seasons?

Thanks for your information and suggestions. Unfortunately the install was farmed out to an individual by our mechanic. We are going back there now to see if they will warranty the install. I believe the individual who installed is out of business now, so that may be a problem. The leak is at the top and seems to go under the seal, so hopefully we can just get that "glued" down. I live in the Atlanta area, so we do have high temperatures, but also have seasons.

ive had two leaky cars in the past 1. over passenger door 2. passenger side top of the windshield and both times ive used roofers culk(tar in a culk tube) it just comes in black though. it worked great for me there was no leaks after i applied it
