Ur brakes are starting to go bad. U should have the brake pads checked, and turn the rotors or replace them entirely, i did that today. Took little over and hour

check the brakes pads. I doubt ur lines would make a sound, but IMO its a worthwhile upgrade while ur down there to upgrade pads/rotors/stainless lines and some motul fluid.

it's not when i'm driving, it's when i am parked and press the brakes. that's why i thought it might be the lines.

Check your front pads, to see if they're wearing properly. Also check to see if your brake shields are rubbing against the rotors.

Get a large flat head screwdriver, and bend the shield back a bit.

i have the same problem. how do you check to see if they are wearing properly or not? i installed new hawk brake pads, brembo rotors, and russell stainless steel lines like 4 months ago. i sometimes experience a grinding noise/feeling near the end of my braking (generally when i get to a complete stop), i get the screeching from the brake pads, AND i get the small squeak (like a pressure squeak) when i let go of the brake or hand brake from 0 mph (basically not moving).

Check for deep grooves or rusty patches in the face of the rotor.

So this might be my fault, but i didn't use the steel plates that go on the back of the brake pads when i installed the pads. I had a hard time putting the pads on with the plate on. can this mess up how the pads are seated? i do see some grooves on the rotors because the rotor is not completely smooth. How do i fix this?

Small grooves are okay. I'm referring to grooves that look like they're carved into the metal surface, roughly 1/8" deep or deeper.

So if my pads are still good and seated properly, what can be the cause of my problems?

What kind of Hawks do you have? Some pads are just prone to squeak until they're heated up.

I haven't had a problem with mine yet. There may be something else going on, to be honest.
