I'm getting ready to paint my side mirrors and i was wondering how to remove the mirror itself, i cant seem to figure out how to remove the mirror from its housing, id much rather remove it than to tape it up and hope for the best.

if anyone knows how to get the mirros off without breaking it of course please let me know asap, i'm hoping to prime the mirrors tonight.

im not sure if you can remove the mirror itself, the whole mirror assembly is pretty simple to remove, there are 3 or 4 bolts in the door behind where the tweeter speakers are, but to remove the two bottom ones, you must remove the door panel. My suggestion would be to remove the whole thing, and cover the mirror with painters tape, then paint away..

you dont need to remove the door panel at all, at least not on the 4 door, i already have the mirrors off the car now, theres 3 8mm bolts and 1 10mm, that plastic panel on the inside just pops off, no need to remove the door panel at all.

but it would be really nice if i can get the mirror off, it would make it alot more easier to paint it rather than having to tape up the mirror and then trying to get the paint in right without build-up.
