Default Rear passenger window down, but not up

Hey there Honda-Tech! Got a 2004 civic hybrid in which the rear passenger window doesn't go up.

So I busted out my trusty big Green manual and see there is a output test and switch test for both the master control unit on the drivers arm rest and at the passenger door.

Checked both switches and found the continuity test pass went checked across the stated pins with the switch in the up, off, and down positions.

Did the input test where you use a jumper wire and connect the terminals to stated terminals and was able to move the window down at the passenger side, and nothing at the master switch. I applied batter power to the 1 and 2 terminals of the motor in question and it moves smoothly up or down depending on which pin I apply power to.

I then unplugged the motor and operated the switch at the passenger side and found that I get power to pin 1 when the switch is in the up position and pin 2 in the down. And that all seems normal enough...

When I plug the plug into the motor, and try to make the motor go up I get power to both 1 and 2 pins and when press the down position on the switch I only get power to the 2 pin (which is probably why it goes down fine).

Additionally the master switch doesn't operate the motor at all, but all other windows work fine. When I unplugged the master plug I found what looks like electrical grease. I assumed it was there for moisture protection, but I guess it could well be simply wet corrosion. Is there supposed to be grease there?

I'm trying to narrow it down to one of the switches or the wiring. The plug for the motor looks pretty intact and I can't see any damage to it. I suppose it could be shorting as I get power (from passenger switch only) to pin 2 in the up or down position only when the motor is plugged in.

And ideas?
