Rule 5. - d. Opinion threads - They will be Closed Poll-based, technically based, and with relevant information posts only. The moment people take it beyond that, into the realm of useless chatter/banter, they will be locked.
This thread has no poll.

At this point (over 100k) substituting what you've been using is unlikely to be beneficial. If you really want to, try synthetic oil.

Re: oil/oil filter question
all oil filters have the same filter media. there is only one company in the world making it.
so your looking at the spring when it comes to which is best. i've cut open a lot of filters and on a car i care about i run Car Quest filters. Bosch and STP are also fairly good.

However, for info purposes some of the best filtering filters are: Wix, Purolator Pure One, Carquest Blue, Napa Gold (WIX), Mobil 1.
I personally use Wix. The day I cut a Fram open brand new I was in shock, so I switched to Wix which isn't much more. I run a Wix 51334 on my Civic and Turbo Integra with 10w30 Mobil1 or Syntec.
