How-to trouble shoot DRL/day running lights??
Hi! Does anyone here have a problem with civic 2002 day running light? I having a hard time figuring why it don't seem to work correctly. I don't know what causes this issue? Here's the problem. I check both front DRL bulb and it work good, when i release the hand brake. Sometimes it make the strange buzzing noises and the trouble code pop up. THis happens sometimes
I usually disconnect the plug from the DRL relay under the dash and plug it back in to stop the buzzing noise. I notice that right DRL light bulb don't work sometime and the left work all the times. I don't know what the problem might be because the DRL trouble computer code kept showing sometimes.
COuld be the bulbs problem? I change the DRL relay and i don't think that might be the problem. Could be the hand brake problem? Please help because the dealers charging me too much for services.. = (

Re: How-to trouble shoot DRL/day running lights??
I believe that noises coming from the DRl relay, but I'm not to certain if that could be the problem because brought another one on ebay and i think the same problem. Could be the plug's connections problem? When i plug the DRL relay under the dash, i release the hand brake the DRl would come on but only the left bulb work. Sometimes the right bulb work, but i don't understand why it like that? Good lord I'm lost.. = (

Re: How-to trouble shoot DRL/day running lights??
ok, i just started experiencing this problem intermittently. here's what i found:
1) i pulled the DRL relay from behind the glove box. relay was fine. i even checked the freewheeling diode. no problem found.
2) pulled the DRL module from under the driver side dash. the PCB had two relays on it. all the solder joints on the relay were cracked. i resoldered everything. i assume this was the cause of the buzzing relay.
3) to be on the safe side, i also checked the headlight harnesses (recall issue. my vin is part of the recall but honda never called me to get the car fixed). no problem was found on my headlight harness.
