Hissing sound when clutch is pressed
i just bought a 02 civic coupe and as i was about to leave the parking lot from school i noticed that there was hissing sound when i pressed on the clutch pedal also i feel some vibrations on the pedal when i put my foot on top of it slightly pressing it, then the hissing gets a tad louder when depressed fully. anybody knows what that is?

Re: Hissing sound when clutch is pressed
it happens on neutral going to 1st>2nd>3rd, havent noticed it on other gears. i would also like to assume on every other gear *preparing for the worst*

I've seen it many times with this model civic at my dealership. The main shaft bearing is going bad. If you could provide a audio or video clip I'll be able to confirm it. Is it almost like a growling type noise?

Re: Hissing sound when clutch is pressed
Its not a growing sound. It is most of the time consistent as to what i have observed. I will try and get a clip of it later. It can bately hear it when inget to higher gears though since theres more stress in the engine thus producing more sound. I also try to shift as fast as i can to avoid stressing the clutch too much. Ill get back as soon as i can
