Help - Tire Pressure
I recently replaced two tires on my 2005 DX Civic with Kumho tires because the tire shop did not carry the stock tires. They inflated the new tires to 45psi, which is the max pressure rating for those tires. The two stock tires on my car have a max rating of 51psi and I keep them inflated to 30psi, which is what the manual recommends. Should I deflate the new Kumho tires to match other tires or add air to the stock tires to match the Kumho? Also is it safe to have the tires inflated to the max psi rating?
Thanks in advance!

Manufacturers recommendations is 30 pounds all around. That is what I keep mine at.
When you infalte it at it's max pressure, you leave no room for heat pressure build up. The tire has no more room for more pressure due to the heat.

Re: (toyomatt84)
The manual says if you drive at higher speeds then they recommend 35psi instead of 30. Since I do drive on the highways everyday to and from work I decided to increase my pressure to 35psi. Thanks for everyones help!
