FAQ: What engine should I put in my EM2/ES1?
This is a question we awnser almost every day. "What swaps can I do to my civic.
Here is a picture tutorial on engines you can swap out for the unloved d17a1/2.
K20a. JDM ITR 2.0l
K20a2 USDM RSX-S
K20A3, USDM Civic Si, and RSX non-Type S.
K24, Accord, Element, CRV, TSX.
All of these engines will fit in our cars with little modification.
Parts you would need to put these engines in the EM2 ES1 chassis:
Mounts
Transmission
ECU with harnesses for respective motor
EP3 Si subframe
Intermediate shaft
EP3 Si Driveshafts
RSX Throttle cable
Shift Linkages (If using 6 speed transmission)
EP3 Si radiator and fans
RSX fuel lines
RSX Brake booster line
RSX EVAP purge lines
RSX clutch lines from master to slave cylinder
If you want to keep AC:
EP3 Si line from the compressor to the condenser
If you want to keep PS:
RSX Pressure line from the pump to the rack
Return line from the rack to the reservoir
92-95 PS Reservoir with bracket.
And if you have an automatic EM/ES, you will need:
shift linkages
shifter base
shift lever
clutch master cylinder
clutch slave cylinder
clutch cable
clutch pedal and its assembly
Anything I may have missed, correct me so I can fix it.

Re: (B18a_CRX)
hey nice postage of the specs on the engines but one thing i noticed is that you have the k20a rated at 152tq@7000rpm but according to http://www.tunerworld.com it is really 206tq@7000rpm im not trying hate on your work just want to make sure the info is correct also does anyone know about how much a k20a will crank out after adding intake, intake manifold, headers and exhaust (all performance grade of course) just wondering cuz i am planning on swappin that old hunk d17 out of my em2 if this has been asked before (which i doubt) i apologize.... if no one knows just pointing me in the right direction would be great thanks

droppedcrx K20a with intake and HDR/E
It made 221.8whp and 159.1tq this is at the wheel not crank so add on estimate 20% somewhere around 245-250 hp

wouldn't be too hard just a crapload more money, but easier with boost.

you could reach 300 or very close.
your forgetting he only has 2 real mods and mostly bolt ons. buy cams/ header, more tuning, maybe even bump up compression some more and im sur eyou can reach 300.
your forgetting he probably runs 12s if not faster with just 220 NA hp 160tq.

There are no kits out there, to mount a V6 (of any kind) in the 7th gen. Civic. So, you're not going to be able to use it.

I'd really take the driver into account when considering these times. The EM2s are a bit porky compared to earlier model Hondas, but weight less than both the RSXs and EP3s... Comparing them to eg hatches with that much torque is hardly fair

humm, 5tq. amazing. oh im sorry SHG_EM1. you must know EVERYTHING about honda motors. big deal. just because i left out ONE motor means i spout useless ****? gtfo and take your little e-***** with you

You can also use the k20z1 out of the 05-06 rsx-s but to use k-pro you require the 02-04 PRB ECU sent ot hondata for the kpro and adapter harness, and you'll have problems with the cluster getting the speed.
