electrical problem....what do you think it is?
I have a 2002 civic eX coups automatic. It was running fine last night and when I came to a stop sign the motor died. Nothing else turned off. Headlights and radio stayed on.
I cranked it about 3 times and it finally turned on.
But now with what feels like the torque convertor not locking up, the tach on the gauges doesn't work.
I also had a cel now.
This morning I disconnected the battery to reset. When I turned the car back on, the idle was erratic in sequence with the tach working and then not, and also a clicking sound coming from somewhere in the car and the cel turning on and off with the clicks.
The idle finally stabilized, clicking stopped, cel stayed on, tach stopped working, the Trans shifts out of park with a hard kick now and I only drove it up and down my driveway but it's clear the torque convertor isn't locking up.
I've done some research and have narrowed it down to a component failure. But before I give my guess I'd like some unbiased opinions.
So......Go!!!!
Thanks for any input, dumb or educated. LoL

So after some more ivestigating. The clicking sound is definitely the 2 relays to the left in the cluster of 3 that's behind the glove box as well as a clicking from the engine bay. The clicking in the engine bay is also definitely not from the fuse and relay panel on the passenger side fender.
I can't seem to pinpoint the location of the clicking in the engine bay. I already removed the stock intake to look around

It may not be the torque convertor not locking up. I'm thinking now that I'm experiencing the stuck in 4th gear phenomenon.
The greed d on the gear indicator on the gauge cluster stays lit up when I'm in park.
Could this be all because of a shift solenoid failure?

Took the car to my friends shop today. Obey scanner will not read but only on the engine selection. It will read the Trans and abs. No codes. Also realized that the radiator fans are not turning on, neither is the ac and accessories condenser fan. Still shifts from park to drive or reverse very hard. To drive it have to select 2 for second gear or else it's in 4th gear. Also when you step on the gas it bogs down and has no power to accelerate.
I thought I had an idea of what the problem was but now with the other problems I didn't notice before, I'm now clueless.

Really?! All the info I posted and you post being a pretentious critical slob about a few words?? Give me a break. You can't figure out that my phone autocorrected obd2 to obey. I'm using a solus pro scanner($2,000) and when you select "engine" for those codes it says "can not communicate" but all the other options are communicating and there's no codes elsewhere.

You do realize you are on a honda-tech forum right? It's like 1% actual mechanics/knowledgeable enthusiasts and 99% stance boys/broke wannabe street racers.
Your best bet is to take it to a car electrician who can source a short or bad wire/electrical part.
