elecrtical power cuts out when key is in IG2 position
im having an odd Problem with my 2002 civic dx sedan. Last night after work when going to start my car my elictrical power cut out in a weird way.
i got in the car and turned the key to the acc position for a bit(IG1 i think) . set my radio, everything was fine. turned key to IG2 to let fuel pump prime, turned off blower motor, and turned the key to start the car. As soon as i turned the key i heard a loud click and all power cut out. with the exception of stuttering speedometer, and dim flashing e-brake light.
i turned the key off and removed it but still the gauges continued to stutter a bit. only after the gauges stopped stuttering did the power return when i put the key in the acc position(again IG1 ithink), and now would cut out in the IG2 position with the same symptoms.
i eventually got it started by connecting a charger and boosting the battery but as soon as i got home and turned off the ignition i decided to try again and same crap happened.
the battery seemed to be putting out proper voltage and it was too late and dark to do any more so i decided to wait untill today. but this morning my battery was completely drained so i could not do anything.
i have a new battery on the way but can anyone please shed some light on this situation otherwise?

it really does sound like a dead battery, once you swap it out let us know how it goes. It may be a million things or it could be a simple fix like my prob..

seems to be good after i swapped the battery, also cleaned the hell out of the cables and grounds, also replaced the backup fuse eventhough it looked fine.
but always need some time to make sure .
thx for the help
