2003 Honda Civic Computer Chip Help!
Hey everybody,
The computer chip in my car recently stopped working and the mechanic says I need to replace it. The ID on the chip is 37820PLML57 but I've called many junkyards and nobody has this chip. One did say they have the 37820PLML54 and that it will work without problem. I'm not sure if they're telling the truth, I hope somebody can help me with this. Thank you!
Car Info: 2003 Honda Civic 1.7, Base Model
Best regards,
Danny

That would be your ECM/PCM, also known as the ECU.
It would be best to match the part numbers when buying a replacement. There are a number of them available on eBay.

I forgot to mention it, but you might also want to check http://car-part.com/ to see if there are others available in your immediate area.

Not a problem. Just so you know, when you replace the ECU, your keys/immobilizer will no longer match it. A dealership will have to remedy that. (unless you get the key, ignition switch, and ECU all from the same car.)
